Robert Thomas Weathers

Music and dance has been the heartbeat of America since before its first inhabitants stretched a skin across a hollow log. It symbolizes so many things. It is inherently powerful in so many layers of life. It is among the strongest threads of our social fabric. Robert Thomas Weathers began painting scenes from American Old-Time music and dance over 30 years ago. Over the years he has felt compelled to match the outward appearance of music and dances through another primitive tool—the paint brush. As his style and technique has progressed over the years, it has become the visual counterpart of music and dance. Indeed, his goal is to convey the cultural continuity of both genres, while helping preserve and promote the legacy of both.
